Music isn't a side project. It's the same project.

I release as Abhi Cris. Electronic, ambient, experimental. Same instinct that ships software: finite resources, irreversible commits, an audience that can quit any second. Spotify ↗

Why music

Every track is a tiny operating system

Tempo, key, and texture are state. Surprise is the only metric. The constraints are sharper than most software I've ever shipped: eight seconds to earn the listener, no docs to fall back on, and a render target that has to work on phone speakers, car stereos, and studio monitors at once.

That's why I release. The discipline is the same discipline as building a product, except the audience can quit any second and tell you instantly what didn't work.

"Editing is the actual job. What you cut from the arrangement is more important than what you write into it. Same with code. Same with a deck. Same with a paragraph."

The Spotify is canonical. The notes below are for anyone who wants to know how the work is being made.

Lineage

From Wild Monks to Abhi Cris

Pre-2020 was the live era of writing and distributing as Wild Monks. In parallel, I built Ojam, a collaborative music editor that grew to a 100K-strong community. The platform wound down; the instinct didn't. Abhi Cris is the present tense: the same questions, in electronic form, released the way I ship code: versioned, dated, public.
